Yesterday it’s been 2 weeks that Julia and I are in Cape Town already. Crazy to think how quickly time passes and how at home I feel here. The past week I have kept busy with Castings, going to the beach, meeting cool people (which might have involved a little too much alcohol), exploring Cape Town, going to Yoga Classes and shooting exciting things for the blog. These pictures for example were shot last sunday whilst I was extremely hungover from the super fun night before.
That saturday night was actually the first night I have ever been out in Cape Town. Julia and I went to Shimmys Beach Club, which was so much fun and reminded me a little of the Clubs in Ibiza. Anyway, after too many tequila shots and drinks it was quite difficult to get ready for a photo shoot on Sunday morning. However, after putting on makeup and this outfit I suddenly felt a little more alive- apart from Orange Juice that was probably the best hangover cure 😉
I am really loving the way we are living here in Cape Town. Just taking every day as it comes, being spontaneous and not planning more than two days ahead. However, yesterday when Julia and I went to visit a friend at the University of Stellenbosch who gave us a tour around the Campus, the realization that I probably cannot live like this forever hit me.
I am 20 years old and I really need to start Uni this year. I want to learn new things, but I feel like a lot of universities can be slightly restricting regarding your freedom to make your own decisions. I don’t want to go to a uni that tells me to go there every day from 8am to 4pm. I feel like after school I should be independent enough to decide which lectures I need to attend.
Furthermore, am I really struggling with deciding what course I want to do. I think it is great that we get such a broad basic knowledge in school, but at uni I really want to focus on things that will help me later in life and not fill my head with unnecessary facts that I will forget a week after exams.
Yep, so basically this is just what I have been thinking about lately. I know this year is going to bring some big changes for me and deciding where I want to study is one of them.
Let’s hope everything falls into place and until then I am just going to enjoy life in Cape Town to the fullest.
Thanks so much for the great pictures Ebenphotography
