Hotel Zoo Berlin

Whilst attending the Berlin Fashion Week last week, Julia and I spent two nights at the beautiful Hotel Zoo Berlin.

Location

The Hotel Zoo Berlin here is located directly on the Kurfürstendamm, one of Berlin’s nicest areas. It is very central and within walking distance to restaurants, shops and cute cafes. One of its neighbours is the impressive Apple store in the capital city.

When strolling along the street, the hotel will not catch your attention right away. The entry is rather small and inconspicuous and when you enter the hotel you follow a little walkway which leads you to the reception. This all makes it feel like you are escaping the buzzing Berlin city life a little.

Design, design, design

What convinced me most about this hotel was its design aspects. With its interior architecture it stays very true to its name Hotel Zoo: animal prints, paintings of exotic animals and some colourful furniture here and there.

The design cleverly works with “zoo” elements without overdoing it and keeping everything clean and modern at the same time.

Make it extra

It’s all in the details, right? What truly makes a stay at a hotel memorable are the little details, because they turn a hotel from a bed to sleep in into a lifestyle feeling.

Especially the bathroom convinced me with some small, exquisite extras. All of the shower gels, shampoos etc. were all produced in Berlin by a local company and are vegan and organic.

The highlight however were the towels and bathrobes, which were designed by famous Maison Martin Margiela, Paris.

Trust me when I tell you that I have never worn a better fitting bathrobe before.

Breakfast & Bar

The hotel’s Grace bar is very popular amongst the locals in Berlin. Right next to the bar you will also find the hotel’s restaurant- Restaurant Grace, where celebrities such as Brad Pitt have already dined.

We went to the restaurant for breakfast, for which you can either choose from the vast buffet selection or pick from the breakfast à la carte menu.

Rooftop Bar

During Fashion Week there were multiple events on the hotel’s rooftop bar. The modern and beautifully designed bar offers a panoramic view over Berlin, which you can enjoy whilst watching the sunset or really at any other time of the day.

A big thank you to Hotel Zoo for having us!
